You can proudly display your chosen name and present your true identity with the Republic Bank Mastercard Debit Card with the True Name feature on personal and business checking accounts. Because whether you are buying groceries or out with friends, you should always be accepted for who you truly are.

Republic Bank is one of only three banks currently offering a Mastercard debit card with True Name, and the first community bank to launch this feature. 

Getting your True Name on your Republic Bank Debit Card is simple and easy.

Personal debit card clients can request a True Name debit card by using our secure form in Personal Online Banking. Visit “More Services” in your Personal Online Banking menu and select “Request a Debit Card”. If you would like to request a True Name debit card for a business account, contact us at (888) 584-3600.

New to Republic Bank?

Visit RepublicBank.com or your nearest Republic Bank location to apply for a new Republic Bank personal or business checking account today! Once you have your checking account opened you can request your chosen name debit card through Online Banking or by calling (888) 584-3600.

Personal debit card clients can request a True Name debit card by using our secure form in Personal Online Banking. Visit “More Services” in your Personal Online Banking menu and select “Request a Debit Card”. If you would like to request a True Name debit card for a business account, contact us at (888) 584-3600.

Using initials or a single letter are acceptable however there are some basic guidelines that you must follow. For example, profane names, numbers, certain symbols, and otherwise offensive language are not allowed.

If you are an existing Republic Bank checking account holder that has not previously had a debit card, you will first need to order a debit card using your legal name. You can order a new personal or business debit card by calling (888) 584-3600 or visiting your nearest Republic Bank location . Additionally, you can order a new personal debit card by logging in to Personal Online Banking and selecting “Request a Debit Card” within the “More Services” menu.

Your replacement card will arrive in the next 2-4 Business Days.

You can continue using your current card to make purchases until your replacement card arrives and you activate it.

Yes. True Name is available for both our Personal and Business Debit Cards.

Currently True Name is only available to Debit Card clients.

The name on your account will remain your legal name. However, Republic Bank will use your chosen first name on some communications. Additionally, Republic Bank may ask for your legal name for identity verification purposes.

If needed, merchants can reach out to Republic Bank Customer Service by calling the number on the back of the card to verify your identity.

Republic Bank recommends using the name on your card for your online purchases.
