Social Media Community Guidelines

We have an active social media presence to help us stay in touch with you and serve you better. We encourage everyone to use common courtesy, be respectful of others and follow our guidelines to foster healthy social communities and to protect your privacy.

Account Help: If you have questions or need assistance with your account, your local banking center or our Easy Support customer service team is the best place to start. To help protect your privacy and the privacy of others, please do not include non-public personally identifiable information such as full Social Security numbers, account numbers, phone numbers or e-mail addresses or any other account information in any comment or post. We will never ask you to provide this type of info through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, or any other type of public channel. We may ask for limited information in our Direct Messaging in order to verify your identity, you should not disclose your account numbers, PINs, full social security number, or passwords.

Private or Confidential Information: With respect to content collected through our social media channels, we follow the applicable privacy policies of the third-party hosts of our social media channels. Please note that these third parties have their own Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policies that you should be aware of.

Spam: Content posted for the purpose of driving traffic to a particular website for personal, political, or monetary gain is not appropriate and will be deleted.

Communication: If you disagree with our content, we’d love to hear from you, but defamatory, obscene, proprietary, libelous, pornographic, abusive, offensive, foul or questionable language of any kind, harassment (racial, religious, sexual orientation, physical characteristics, gender, ability/disability, economic status), off-topic, SPAM – will be hidden from the timeline or taken down and will be deleted from the social media page. In certain instances, we may suspend or block users that violate our guidelines.

Children: Due to federal law, we cannot accept comments or other information from or about individuals under the age of 13. For more information visit the FTC website: http://www.ftc.gov/. Republic Bank’s social media channels are not intended for children under the age of 13. Please do not access or use our social media channels if you are under 13 years of age. By using our social media channels, you affirm that you are over the age of 13. 

Endorsements: Republic Bank does not endorse any comments made by its employees, unless they are an authorized representative of the bank. All unofficial statements and viewpoints expressed in the comments are strictly those of the commenter alone. We are not responsible for and do not endorse any content or advertisements posted by the third-party hosts of our social media channels or third-party sites or applications that may appear on such channels.

Digital Millennium Copyright Act Policy/ Intellectual Property Infringement: If you believe in good faith that materials found on our pages infringe your copyright, you (or your agent) may send us a direct message requesting that the material be removed or access to it blocked (or requesting that a third-party site remove or disable access to it). 

Republic Bank Associates: Each employee is an important ambassador for Republic Bank, and they are encouraged to promote and connect with our social media channels if they make sure to disclose they are affiliated with Republic Bank by using the hashtag #RBTAssociate.  We welcome associate engagement but do not endorse comments that aren’t from authorized Republic Bank representatives, which includes the manager of our social media channel. Associates of Republic Bank should refer to the internal Social Media Guidelines found on the marketing SharePoint site.
